Helping Our Billings Neighbors with No Cost Laundry Events
Each month, many Billings residents must choose between paying an essential bill such as water or electricity, or cleaning their clothes. Clean clothes and bedding support family health and well-being by reducing germs in soiled bedding, promoting self-esteem in children who are able to go to school in clean, fresh smelling clothes and parents who are able to attend job interviews and work in a presentable outfit.
Over the last eight months, the Junior League of Billings has been lending a helping hand around our community in the form of No Cost Laundry Days. Since the inception of our No Cost Laundry Pilot Project we have hosted six events in community partnership with Koinonia Laundry and Speedy Wash Laundry donating a total of $1,431.00 in laundry services. Over that time, we’ve served approximately 140 people with the help of 43 volunteers. At our most recent event on October 27, 2016, we provided 76 washer loads and 66 dryer loads.
We are grateful to have the opportunity to provide this important service to our Billings neighbors and thank everyone who has participated in making this venture a success!
Stay tuned for future No Cost Laundry dates! If you’d like to help out with time or a donation, please contact us at [email protected]
